Atmospheric Hauntings: An Algorithm's Journey Through the Sublime
By Gal Shahar
Can the sublime be calculated, or does it only exist in the space between a system and the person looking at it? This project examines whether artificial intelligence can truly experience something like transcendence, or if it can only simulate the appearance of it. Visual elements like chromatic shifts and soft distortions aren't treated as mistakes; they're where the image begins to stretch beyond what the system can fully understand. The series navigates memory and perception, leaving space for the viewer to complete the meaning, as each image is shaped as much by what is seen as by what is remembered. *Generative art · 2026*
