The Metamorphosis Portal brings forth changes and insights through physical, psychological and spiritual transformation. It is a catalyst for bridging the perceived differences from age, gender, ethnicitiy, religion, culture, health... Story & Inspiration > When we were out camping at a music festival I had brought with us a small piece of two-way mirror I had from working on another interactive project: the Inward Light One evening, my wife asked me to demonstrate the principle behind two-way mirrors, so I chose to make a demonstration with the small sample piece I had brought and a flash light. As I was explaining to her that you see though the material once the light shines on a subject on the other side of the mirror, I flashed the light from her face to mine back and forth repeatedly. It so happened that the mirror was positioned equal-distance from her face and mine that our physical symmetric started to merge together into one! We both thought how cool it would be to replicate this effect infinitum, and the idea was born! I later received a grant from the Black Rock Arts Foundation (BRAF) to bring this idea to life and presented it to the Burning Man in Nevada.
